A high-performance option for training or racing, the Adidas Outdoor Men’s Terrex Agravic Boa trail running shoe is lightweight, stable, responsive, and equipped with easy on-the-fly fit adjustability. Coming in at just over 10 ounces these trail running shoes are built to handle a wide variety of terrain. From technical singletrack to buffed out fireroads you’ll be at home in the Agravic. They feature a Boa Closure System that allows for easy on and off and a sock-like build for steadfast support. A responsive midsole returns energy with every step to keep you going further.  With a 7mm drop and solid Continental rubber outsole this is a great option for demanding trail runs that encompass a variety of terrain.
The sock-like upper on the shoe is rather forgiving and allows for the foot to expand with very little impingement.  There are a few welded overlays on the far sides of the upper to help with abrasion resistance from rocks and what not.  The upper does have a noticeable amount of volume to it and, when combined with a rather wide last, offers a great fit for wider feet.  The Boa lacing system locks the foot down in place very securely across the midfoot and the inclusion of rather small laces seems to ensure that the top of the foot will not undergo excess pressure from the system.  The Boa is definitely a nice bonus as it makes micro-adjustments quick and easy on the go.
Adidas’ Boost midsole is made of a polyurethane material that offers significantly more energy return than a standard eva midsole.  The Boost certainly gives shoes a rather bouncy ride and you can almost feel the energy return when you’re running.  Shoes made with Boost should also be a bit more durable as well, giving you another 100 miles or so on your shoes. The shoe has a 7mm drop which gives it a decent amount of protection under the forefoot. While the shoe doesn’t have a rockplate, the boost and solid rubber outsole does help to give the foot a decent amount of protection in rougher terrain.

The outsole of the Agravic was designed to mimic a mountain bike tire. Adidas went with a pretty soft rubber compound for the outsole and as a result the shoe offers as much grip as any other shoe on the market.  The relatively aggressive lugs dig into softer ground and are widely spaced to help shed mud and water.
If you’re looking for a responsive all around trail shoe then the Agravic should definitely be on your short list.  Come on in and check a pair out.
