The 42nd Annual Mount Sopris Run Off & 4 Mile Fair Run is back for 2021! Come and join us for this funky, fun and challenging 14 mile race. We will also have a super fast downhill 4 Mile Fair Run held the same day.
The 14 mile race starts in Basalt (Emma School House) climbs 1500 feet up West Sopris Creek Road, then descends 1700 feet past the 4 mile start and into Carbondale, finishing in Sopris Park where Mountain Fair activities are just beginning.
The 4 mile race is fast and fun downhill affair that is perfect for families. Please note that the 4 mile race participants need to be at Sopris Park in Carbondale before the event in order to bussed up to the start line.
Bus service is available before the 4 Mile race (from Sopris Park) to get you to the start and after the 14 mile race to get you back to your car (if needed) at the start of that race. For more information call 970.704.0909

6:30am- Day of Registration Begins
7:30am- Mt Sopris 14 Mile Run-Off Starts at Emma Schoolhouse
10:15am- Awards Ceremony begins
11:00am- Bus Departs Sopris Park (Finish Line) to Shuttle Runners Back to Emma Schoolhouse (start)
Where: The Race Starts at the Emma School House (Basalt) and runs to Sopris Park (Carbondale)- Runners are expected to get to the starting area by their own means. There will be a bus to take you back to the start.
Course: Is 1/2 Road & 1/2 Dirt Road with 1500 feet of elevation gain & 1700 feet of elevation loss.
4- Mile Fair Run
Where: Please note that racers need to be at Sopris Park in Carbondale for the 4 mile race. A bus will take you to the start.
6:15 am Pre-Race Registration at Sopris Park
7:15 am Bus Departs Sopris Park to Shuttle 4 Mile Runners to Start
7:45 am 4 Mile Fair Run Starts
Register & meet at Sopris Park (Mountain Fair) in Carbondale, starting @ 6:15am. A bus will take you to the start of the race at 7:15am.
The run is mostly downhill and very fast if you are going for a PR! This is a great event for families.
