Sticky traction for varied terrain paired with plenty of cushioning to go the distance, the Salomon Sense Ride is a versatile trail running shoe ready to take on your next adventure. Salomon running shoes have typically been on the firmer side, offering plenty of responsiveness but lacking in the way of cushioning. In 2017 Salomon is finally changing it’s game, using softer eva in their midsoles and introducing new plush cushioning materials. The Sense Ride is one of the first trail running shoes in their lineup to utilize their new ‘Vibe’ midsole material.
First used in the Sonic Series and Sense Max, Vibe Technology is a multi-piece midsole composed of EnergyCell+ foam and two Opal cushion inserts. These two compounds work together to reduce foot strike vibrations and deliver an optimal responsive ride. Yet, unlike the Sonic series, the Sense Ride features a full-length Opal insert across the midsole to boost responsiveness. Salomon didn’t let this bouncy shoe get too bulky though, at 9.7 ounces for a men’s size 9 this shoe is no tank, and is certainly light enough for some faster miles on the trail.
On the outsole, the Sense Ride features a Premium Wet Traction Contagrip similar to what’s seen in the latest S-Lab Shoes, Salomon’s premium products. This feature should provide your runs with optimal traction over wet and dry surfaces. Additionally, a ProFeel Film paired with flex grooves should give this shoe a combination of flexibility and protection when you’re running on rocky ground.
With a well cushioned midsole, a precision fit, and a top end outsole, this shoe is ready to handle any terrain that you can throw at it. Come on in and check out a pair today.
